You may have seen our Johnny Cash "Soundtrack Edition" in the iPhone app store earlier year, well now you can read Johnny Cash: I See A Darkness in glorious HD on spacious 10" iPad screen. The main difference, apart from the improved quality of the images is that you can now read the story as you would the book, ie one page at a time. The menus have also been re-designed for the iPad.

The author, Reinhard Kleist, has already received Harvey and Eisner Award nominations for his work on the bestselling print edition. If tech is your thing, then we highly recommend giving the app a go.
Here's the clever thing though: the app ties in Johnny's music, just as the iPhone version did. Well, it does if you own the songs anyway. If you have Cash's back catalogue on your iPad, they'll be inserted at relevant points in the story, as you read the graphic novel.
If you don't own the songs, there's a 'purchase and insert' feature that ties into Apple's iTunes Store. Cash is one of the few artists whose life story deserves the graphic treatment, so this app will be a treat if you're a fan of the Man In Black.
The apps and book are available to buy here:
The iPad soundtrack edition £2.99
The iPhone soundtrack edition £2.99
Labels: graphic novel, iPad, iPhone, Johnny Cash, Reinhard Kleist, SelfMadeHero
